As promised, I'm relaunching the blog this week with a new look and a new direction.
In the past when I've posted work, the descriptions and what not have been of a much more technical nature, trying to explain what I was doing which quite frankly isn't all that interesting nor is it really indicative of why I wanted to start a blog to start with. What I do, I do as a way to relate to the world, I consider it therapy as I'm generally speaking a person with his share of emotional issues and I'm not always the best at dealing with those things on my own. Most of my work has a story behind it as to the why of how it came to be. Sometimes that story isn't always completely relevant to the pictures or pieces, sometimes it is but those are stories worth telling and I'm going to endeavor to start telling those stories.
I mentioned a few times in the past that I didn't want this blog to be about me writing about personal things. I don't think that's something that's true anymore. My artwork is so personal on so many levels that it is next to impossible for me to create that separation when presenting it. I've got a lot of things that have been weighing heavily on me in the last little while so I'm hoping this new direction will help me reach out and get some things off my chest and perhaps find others that can relate to where I'm coming from.
I'm also going to start sprinkling in some of my writing. I've written a large amount of short stories and poetry that I'd like to share with all of you because it all comes from the same place as my pictures and photos, therapy to relate to the world. I'll also probably repost a good deal of the material I've already posted but with an emphasis on telling the stories behind it.
I hope this new direction will motivate me to maintain this blog better. I'm not promising daily posts but I will aim to update with some regularity so that there will be something fresh and new for my fans.
